Delete your account
You can delete your Lawclear account at any time, from the app or from the website. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
In the app
Open the app and sign in. Go to the Me tab, then Settings. Scroll to the bottom and choose "Delete account". Type your email address to confirm, then confirm again when asked.
On the website
Sign in, open Settings, and choose "Delete account" in the Security section.
If you cannot sign in
Email privacy@lawclear.ai from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that you own the address and confirm once it is done, within 40 days as the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance requires.
What is deleted
Your account and sign-in details; your name, email address, phone number and language preference; the cases you reported, including their descriptions, answers, and the documents and photos you uploaded; your messages and the voice recordings you sent; your engagements and any reviews you wrote; your notifications, saved sessions, and the push token that identifies your phone. Notifications stop immediately.
What is kept, and why
Records the law requires us to keep — for example billing and tax records of payments made by members — are retained for as long as the law requires and are not linked to your account afterwards. A message you sent to another person stays visible to that person, in the same way an email you have sent stays in the recipient’s mailbox; it no longer identifies you by name. Anonymised, aggregated statistics do not identify you and are not deleted.
Deleting one case instead
To remove a single case rather than your whole account, open that case in the app or on the website and choose Delete. Everything else stays as it is.
